The history of Sigma Kappa begins with its founding on November 9, 1874, at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Established by five remarkable women, Sigma Kappa was built to foster a lifelong connection in sisterhood while remaining true to its founding as an intellectual and social women's sorority.
The sisters of Kappa Sigma are guided by their timeless open motto, "One Heart, One Way," and the commitment to "Live with Heart," which is deeply ingrained in their service and sisterhood traditions.
